We interviewed Cindy Burger, President at Whiteway Building Services, about the real-world results they’ve seen using TEAM Software by Workwave solutions.
How did you first hear about TEAM Software?
I actually went to a conference in Nashville, it was a room of about 80 to 100 people, and they asked who all uses TEAM Software and there was maybe four of us that didn’t raise our hands. I knew that there was something going on [with TEAM] and I needed to see what it was.
What was the primary challenge you wanted to solve with TEAM Software solutions?
When you’re using pen and paper or time cards that people physically write the time in and out, you know you’re getting stolen from, it’s just how much. You don’t realize how much until you get something such as TEAM that can track stuff for you with automatic time in and out.
How does your TEAM Software solution help you save money on payroll?
With the app, you can be within 300 feet of a specific address of a building and they can only clock in when they’re in that parameter. That’s saves us money on payroll.
How does the system’s alerting functionality benefit your business?
The alerts we get when somebody hasn’t clocked into a time parameter that we set — we could set five minutes, ten minutes, give them a leeway of 20 of it’s snowing — because if somebody doesn’t [clock in], then we get a different notification, a different ringtone that tells us that person hasn’t checked in yet. Then we send out the area supervisor to go check and see what’s going on.
How does TEAM Software help you improve communication at your company?
Passing a note to an employee back before — it was hard to to do that without the telephone game or a handwritten memo that they would sign off on. The memos would always disappear. Nobody could get the signed one back. And so with the eHub, when the person clocks in, if they have a message waiting for them they can’t clock in until they read it, so there’s no more of, “I don’t know where it went.”
What impact does TEAM Software have on the service you provide to your clients?
One of the biggest compliments when when people have asked about our company is our quick response, and I know that it has to do with being able to give them a message through eHub in real time.
How would you describe the value of WinTeam to others?
It is going to save you money! You want to put out a good product, you want to do things the honest way, but your biggest expense is payroll. Business expenses, payroll, that’s the immediate effect that we saw. I’m talking nickels and dimes, but in a month or a week, that adds up.
