Giving Thanks and Giving Back

TEAM looks back on 2018 to celebrate some of our best moments.

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, it’s a great time to reflect on the year — to see how much you’ve grown, both inside and out. At TEAM, our year was filled with memorable moments. From a new strategic partnership, to employees coming together to support a greater cause, here’s a look at how we’re giving thanks and giving back in 2018.


Giving Thanks

You know it’s been a good year when you look back and have so much to be thankful for you don’t even know where to start. That’s 2018 in a nutshell for TEAM.


As a technology company, our key purpose is to provide our customers with efficiency-enhancing software solutions. This year, we’ve added new features to our core solution, WinTeam, like:

  • Updates to the Insurance Benefits module to make managing benefits easier for both administrators and employees.
  • A slew of Accounts Receivable enhancements, all based on direct client feedback and submissions on our Idea Portal.
  • Enhanced API infrastructure to connect third-party software like guard touring or customer management solutions.
  • And, we’ve been building out and preparing for the launch of payroll tax automation project in 2019.


In addition, the first phase of our new product for small businesses — Q by TEAM Software — was completed and is currently in beta testing, with an official launch planned for early January 2019.


Technology isn’t the only thing we’ve been working on. TEAM prides itself on providing our customers with the best experience in the industry, so we’ve been onboarding new employees (with a few open positions left to fill, if you’re looking for a career change) across the organization to ensure we continue to provide the best service for our growing customer base. We’re thankful for all the opportunities we get to support our customers in growing their businesses. Whether it’s on the phone, at a trade show, via the Idea Portal or even face-to-face at TEAM Client Conference, we love connecting with our customers at every turn.


We also named a new president to the company this summer. Promoted in July, Jill Davie became the company’s third president with John Leiferman continuing as CEO. Davie has supported TEAM in various rolls for more than 22 years and her promotion was the natural evolution of her career with the company. Her knowledge, passion and commitment to TEAM’s customers and culture is key in our drive to move forward.


And, Davie’s promotion wasn’t the only major change. TEAM announced it was closing the book on its employee stock ownership program (ESOP) and entering into a strategic partnership with Accel-KKR, a technology-focused investment firm based in Menlo Park, California. This transformational partnership is the next great chapter of TEAM’s story, and we’re excited for the growth opportunities ahead as we leverage Accel-KKR’s resources and network to help us define what’s next.


Giving Back

The concept of doing more is ingrained in our company’s history and core values. Some might even say that going the extra mile is just our part of our DNA. And, it’s not just for the benefit of the company itself — we do more every day for our fellow coworkers and the community in which we live.


This year, many TEAM employees took advantage of TEAM’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO), which allows eligible employees eight hours a quarter to volunteer with organizations throughout the community. TeamMates, Boy Scouts of America, Open Door Mission, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and a few others benefited from our employees’ desire to help others.


And, as one of our employees is battling cancer, TEAM jumped at the chance to help out. In May, we held a fundraiser complete with pancakes, a cook out, raffle prizes and a silent auction to raise a significant amount of money for the family.


As the holiday season approaches, in lieu of raffle gifts at the annual holiday party, TEAM is holding a silent auction where all the proceeds will be donated to Youth Emergency Services (YES), the Micah House, and Open Door Mission / Lydia House. Employees are also gathering food donations for the Food Bank of the Heartland, with a goal to collect and donate 3,000 pounds before the end of November.
